The nesting boxes and baskets have been successful and little “duckies” should be hatching any day. There are nests for the Mallard, Wood and Mandarin ducks.  During nesting it is important not to    frighten the ducks or disturb the nests so please watch from a safe distance.

Beside the ducks on the  lake,  bluebirds and nut hatches have been seen nesting in the houses in the wildflower field.  Blackbirds chose the smoker at the lodge.  That required Tim to move the top to rescue the nest.  Indigo buntings with their brilliant blue feathers have  also been observed at  finch feeders.

The turtles are on the move!  This one was spotted in the swale behind E section-No wonder with the 7+ inches of rain we’ve had!
