The third and biggest deluge of the day began right as the pig was being carved. With over 100 people for dinner, everyone pitched in and co-operated and were eating in no time. Thanks for everyone’s patience and cooperation. The improvements made in the drainage of the Park allowed the waters to recede in about an hour. Once the new lake is dug in the back, the majority of the flooding potential will be eliminated. However, when we receive that much rain in such a short period of time, run off flooding will occur but be temporary. The rains were very spotty. Clearview Farms on our west got next to nothing, we received over 2.6 inches, and the farm east of us over the hill received 5 inches. The kids had great fun ‘swimming” and we appreciate the parents keeping a watchful eye over them, especially around the drains to keep them out of harms way. |
