Our (BHHP) Animals

We sincerely thank everyone for their input and we will do our best to address the concerns

Yes they are the BHHP animals.  The voting is in and there was an overwhelming vote for the animals to stay.   Here are some of the reasons for the animals:

                                 They teach our children responsibility

                                                     It gives the kids something special to do and entertains them for hours

                                        We can’t get the kids up in the morning to go to school but they get

                                                  themselves up for the animals

                                Other campgrounds offer similar things but not the animals

                                                                It gives the kids something to do instead of watching TV or video games

                                They are educational

 

                                            Here are some of the concerns against the animals:

 

 

     The smell

·          By building the barn we should have better control of this

and also can contain it better

      It has been untidy around the pens

·          The barn will definitely take care of this

 

      Roaming loose

·          As this has been a happening rather than by design we have

had containment problems.  With the barn we will also improve

the fencing

      Safety

·          There is always an inherent risk with having animals whether it is a dog that can bite out of the blue for no apparent reason or a runaway horse.  This is just the nature of the beast and we will do our best to minimize the risks

      Pens too close

·          Next year we move the west pen farther west across the ditch

 

                                                We even had someone say they are leaving because of

                                                 them and this is truly unfortunate but when I

                                                 see the pure pleasure, delight, joy and love, happiness

                                                 and contentment in the kids eyes it is worth the

                                                 sacrifice.  We try to do things to please the majority

                                                  and address the concerns

                                                   of the others the best we can.
