Straight from the Horse’s mouth I love my job Ah, the variety of jobs I have to deal with are endless and it makes life interesting, never boring and always a challenge. This week entailed one of my absolute favorite jobs. As you may have heard or at least smelled, the air pump on the sewer plant died. Getting a new one took several days and arrived Thursday afternoon with no oil and grease. It took 3 times longer to find the correct oil and grease than it did to install it, but we did have it up and running that evening to help cut down on the smell for the weekend. While doing this I took the opportunity to clean out the objects the sewer plant can’t eat (those billions of little aerobic bacteria). That is, all those plastic items that shouldn’t get put down a toilet. Most of these items are personal hygiene products. But this time there was something I had never seen before, they where I think ‘depends’ you know the ones with the wings! At least that’s what I have learned through watching the ads on TV, a great place for the kids to know more than they need too. With the size of these things it amazes me that they can even get flushed let alone make there way through hundreds of feet of only 6” pipe. You can only imagine at how happy I would be if these type products block the sewer lines and I would have to dig up lines to find the blockage. So to cap this story off could you please us the receptacles provided and also please dispose of diapers in the dumpste “There ain’t no flies on me” The horse flies should be subsiding about now but I can’t wait any longer to go riding so we’ll start riding again this week. We even got some fly sheets in an end of season clearance that should allow us to ride anytime without the flies causing the horses to buck and kick. Calling all Horsie Kids October 7th is a fall Haflinger Drive in Danville, Oh. We are planning to go, which would entail us staying Friday night in tents and return late Saturday. It is an 18 mile trek which we would take Cindy pulling the wagon and Nikon the cart. If you are interested please sign up it is limited to 8 kids and 1 adult. Those selected to go will be based on their contribution to the horses not the sign up order. Where have all the Kids gone This last week was quiet with only Josh out here. But this week is QUIET oh so quiet. It is the first time Mel or Joe had to deliver wood in months. Now we will get to know how much they did. Lisa has to get up with me to bring up the horses. |
