Our Christmas celebration is truly a community effort. The myriad of

tasks to be completed begins on Friday evening with decorating your

site, filling the “goodie bags” with treats for the kids when they visit

Santa, and filling the milk jugs with sand & candles for the hundreds

of luminaries that are placed around the lake in preparation for

Saturday evening.  Cookies are baked, punch is made, hayride is supervised, caroling is led, and snow cones are served all as part of the party.  Our volunteers also provide the usual Ice Cream Social, Burger Bash and Breakfast on Sunday.  Then it’s time to pick up luminaries & put away decorations for next year. Many hands make light work, and sharing in fun times makes happy hearts.  Gather your family & friends and join us! Ho! Ho! Ho!

Our Christmas Celebration  begins Friday night as the

sites light up with Christmas lights & decorations.

Saturday begins with the Burger Bash at noon.

Everyone boards the flatbed for a hayride and

caroling with Santa. Individual visits with Santa and

party for everyone back at the lodge.  Appropriate for July,  snow cones will be provided outside after the party.  At dusk, after Special Bingo, gather at the lake for the lighting

of the luminaries, caroling and touring the park to

admire everyone’s decorations and enjoy the Christmas

spirit.  The evening will end with an outdoor Christmas

movie for the family.

Give the kids a computer and a few bored moments

and you get a whole lot of articles.  I am continually

amazed at what they can do when they want to.

The amount of cans we all have collected is mounting.

Lisa is in New Hampshire visiting her sister who has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  She’ll be back Sunday.

Some people have wondered why we aren’t finishing A section especially since we are full and now will be using the remaining Park Model sites.  Renovating A section requires new sewers, underground electric and new water lines before the pad, driveway, sidewalk, grading, timbers and seeding can be done. Unfortunately money doesn’t grow on trees and it is sales (which died 3 years ago) that would produce money for construction.  We have already spent nearly $500,000 (a debt that has to be serviced) on updating this park with new utilities, not to mention all the site and ground  improvements you can see.  It will take filling E and F (all of F to25) with Park Models to get us back on track and able to continue with construction again.

It is pleasing to see the campground full again which is where we were  4 years ago.  Hopefully now we can move forward.
