Straight from the Horse’s mouth

I was in Wakeman at 6.55pm and wanted

to get some Children's Motrin for one of

our kids running a fever.  I stopped at the

one and only grocery store there but only

had $2 and no checks left or credit cards.

Of course the Motrin was more.  Kind of

embarrassed I had to leave without it.  As I was walking back to the truck the owner came running out and said if I wanted it just come back in the morning and pay for it.  I couldn’t believe it and thanked her very much for trusting a virtual stranger.  After introducing myself to her she expressed her thanks to all of you who support their business.

We like to support our local business and really appreciate having convenience stores because that what they say, ‘convenient’.

I just read Miss Tidy’s article and thought I would take the opportunity to thank the kids for their help.  I know a lot of the time it is just to drive the ATV or golf carts but they do as Miss Tidy points out accomplish things that are necessary.

I may expose the kids to things that they normally would never experience and also to push their horizons of experiences but safety and the wellbeing is always my number one concern.

Having grown up in the country I was exposed to a lot more as a kid than what our kids are exposed to.  Even the ATV mud trailer riding trips are a learning experience for the kids and it shows them that the envelop we live in can be pushed without it being disastrous and still be fun.  Remember I come from the country that invented Bungee Jumping, Jet Boats thus white river boat trips and many other extreme sports.  While kids are young it is the time to challenge their boundaries.

Text Box: This week’s article is about Glory!! Glory is the smallest animal in the barn besides chubby!! Glory is a miniature dwarf horse!! So you can guess that she’s going to be small without even seeing her! She is hilarious when she runs!! Don’t get me wrong she can run fast but those legs move a hundred miles a minute!! She may be the smallest but she thinks she’s the boss!! Her and Maggy are really good friends except when it comes to food!! Glory usually gets ALL the food in that friendship!! Well, that’s glory the littlest boss of the bunch!!

The Slide Thru

On the corner of 113 and 61

Now has good fresh corn, watermelon, yellow onions and other goodies.  Jerry and Monica are both very pleasant and obliging and will stock anything you want.

It is truly a treat to shop somewhere where  your business is appreciated.  Their prices are very fair considering they are new and don’t have the buying power of Wal-Mart.

Their sign congratulated Fran & Missy and then

Thanks BHHP

My sincere thanks goes out to everyone who expressed their concerns for my sister, Babs and I.  The offers for rides to and from the airport as well as your prayers and support are truly appreciated.  It was comforting to know I could just go and have no worries knowing everything would be taken care of.  Big thanks to Cheryl and ALL!    The liver biopsy came back negative which has given my sister some hope that maybe they can now do radiation and then remove the pancreas.   We’ll keep you posted.  For now, we just wait and see.
