Bocce News

The weather for both games was

perfect-brisk & cool.  Both courts

were full with 3 people on each

side and all games were close.

On Saturday the winners on

Court 1 were Ruth Walkerow & Ron Balas and Court 2 were Darrell Walkerow & Kelly White in game 1 & Woody & Tony White skunked the competition in Game 2. On Sunday all games were decided by 1 point, with winners Ruth Murdy & Darrell Walkerow, Kelly White & Ruth Walkerow, Nick White & George Osborne, and Tony White & Bill Murdy.  This writer’s BBW Award (Best Bocce of the Week) goes to Ruth & Darrell Walkerow.  Come and play-it’s always fun!     Submitted by Nick White

Text Box: This week’s article is about Maggie! Maggie is a funny looking kind of horse! Don’t get me wrong or anything but she has something wrong with her hooves! Maggie’s bones grew too fast for her hoof tendons!! That could be the reason she looks funny. People have asked “Why does Maggie go on her back legs?!”! Well, usually she does that when someone is playing with her hooves!! She REALLY doesn’t like that!! Well, then there’s times when she does it to tell the other horses to Back Off!! The kids are also trying to teach her how to do it on command so that it could be her “trick”!! Maggie is a regular miniature horse, with some quirks!!

July 4th Weekend

...only 2 weeks away

Start planning now for the festivities! Be creative with decorating your golf cart or bikes for the parade.  Use your talents to participate in the 4th of July Ceremony following the parade. Signup sheet in the lodge. “Theme” Karaoke will also be that

weekend. Not only sing your favorite

songs,  dress the part of your favorite

 star.  We’ve had isolated appearances

of Busta Batley and Ms. Super Fly in the

past, but this event will be all celebrities!

  Elvis, Blues Brothers, Brad Paisley,

Dolly Parton, Smashing Pumpkins,

                        maybe Uncle Sam

                        with a patriotic  number?

                         Use your imagination

                         & have fun.  I can’t wait!

                        P.S.  Who knows, Ms.

                        Super Fly might even sing

                       “One Bad Apple Don’t Spoil

                        the Whole Bunch Girl!”

                        See you there!

I apologize profusely for omitting Dick &

Lois Salcer and Mike & Jeanne Timko

on the list last week of those who were

here when we took over.  I knew as

soon  as I did that I’d forget someone.

I’m so sorry.  We look forward to many

                                         more years with you.

Parents:  Let your children know they are not allowed in the park models without an adult seasonal.  Please tell them to stay off the beds.  Thank you.

Tidbit:  Hey, why are the fountains sputtering?  That’s

because the water level is high and the nozzle is

submerged.  As soon as the water level goes down (due to

evaporation) the fountains will  stop sputtering.

1000’s of recycled cans have been

collected so far for the Horse Fund.

                  Thanks  for everyone’s

                  efforts-keep them coming!

                  Update on leader s for

                  gift certificate next week..
