Straight from the Horse’s mouth
Greens Mower OK a lot of you may have seen that I have a new toy. Well it was the internet deal of the century. I have often checked for greens mowers but they are very expensive, even the one we have was over $1200 and I spent all my time repairing it. On Wednesday I happened to check EBay and found this John Deere Greens Mower. I couldn’t believe it, they wanted $1450 “BUY NOW” or $1295 bid minimum. I, not knowing better, put in a bid at 11pm. After sleeping on it I decided to buy it, oh now the buy now option was gone! I didn’t know that once you hit the bid key the “Buy Now” went away. Oh well, I would have to follow this through if I really wanted it. Closing of the auction was about 3.30 pm Thursday and lucky for me it started raining again. With only 4 minutes to go a JD dealer bid on it, the first bid other than mine in 7 days. I had a gut feeling it was going to happen and had increased my bid to $1600. Seeing his bid I panicked and tried to increase my bid to $2000 but it was too late the action had ended. I checked and found I had won by $20. This mower has a market value of between $10 to $16,000. We would have to have won the lottery to have this kind of a mower. So now with time we should see tremendous changes in the playing quality of the greens. I am so excited to have scored this.
Lagoon and Fish After more research online this is what I believe happened at the lagoon this summer. Phytoplankton die-off Low oxygen levels in pond water. Fish found dead and/or gasping for air. Pond water with a green cast prior to or during fish kill. Phytoplankton may look like grren paint floating on the water surface. Nutrient enriched ponds produce dense blooms of phytoplankton ( Algae) which can suddenly die-off and decompose causing an oxygen shortage.
Many thanks to all those who have transferred fish to the lagoon.
And then there were none Congratulations to Lynn and Brenda for on their extension of the season by purchasing the last of the Park Models and moving it to E10. Lisa and I will be attending the National show in Louisville Ky. in November to see what is out there today that will meet our requirements (natural gas, upgraded ducting for improved heating and air, insulation, wiring size, cable wiring, and so it goes on.} Unfortunately I don’t think there will be anything out there that will sell for under $55k so I doubt that we will be stocking anything for next year but that doesn’t mean one can’t be ordered. We need a little consolidation time after 3 years of a down turn in the market and the new rounds of Ford cut backs and closures.
We will pay $20 for your wood rack and $50 for your storage shed, if you are leaving the park and would like to sell them. See Tim or Lisa. |

More from the Horse’s mouth
The area around the lake isn’t being mowed to give the horses grazing over the fall/winter, it will be removed and cleaned up before spring. The fence isn’t electrified at this time.
Lights There is really quite a simple explanation for some of the lights not working, I don’t have someone to drive the skid that I can trust to put me up that high to fix them. Believe it or not I don’t want to get tipped off my make-shift man-lift. Maybe I’ll make another score on eBay to buy a man-lift, but don’t hold your breath. Hopefully next spring I will have some more labor and can get these things done. Who knows. |
